Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) | Holly’s

Holly talks about how CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) has helped her with her mental health (depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic attacks and an eating disorder.

“It’s hard work and you will probably cry, and hate the person who is doing the CBT but it really is fantastic. It helps you understand what’s going on in your head and how you can change that. Because I don’t think that you, like me, want your head to be telling you your rubbish and you’re not worth anything anymore”

“I find having people in your life who can talk to and you can trust.. don’t have people who don’t take your illness seriously or blame it on you. Just only surround yourself with people who treat you as you treat them, as there is no point trying to teach yourself you’re ok, when other people are telling you you are not.”
